Ground Sun’s expert team successfully installed screw piles for this two-storey terraced house extension. This project presented challenges due to limited access and restricted working space.
A handheld hydraulic rig was utilised to efficiently drill the screw into the ground. Extensions are securely bolted onto the shaft, and the helical piles are pulled downward with precision. Torque is applied until the required load capacity is achieved, ensuring maximum structural stability. A flowable grout mixture is then used to fill the void, fully surrounding and encapsulating the shaft for added reinforcement.
Once the necessary depth and load capacity are confirmed, the helical pile shaft is cut to the appropriate level, and a pile cap is attached. This prepared the foundation for the installation of the steel ring beam.
